NFG's season finale returns to Loughborough for 2019! Don't miss out on your chance to compete in Loughborough university's unrivalled sporting facilities.

The one-day event will be open to teams of 4 in the below categories and you will also have the opportunity to watch the elite teams battle it out for the title of 'The UK's Fittest Team':

  • MEN

  • WOMEN

  • MIXED (2+2)

  • MASTERS (all athletes over 40)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The National Fitness Games is open to gym enthusiasts of all abilities and all training styles. None of our challenges will require you to complete overly technical lifts or exercises that are specific to one type of training. If you are a regular visitor to any style of gym or training facility, you will be able to compete.

You will be tested in a fun, yet challenging, way in our 4 NFG  workout zones:

 

  • STRENGTH ZONE

  • VELOCITY ZONE

  • FORCE ZONE

  • ENDURANCE ZONE

  Loughborough University is home to the country’s largest concentration of world-class facilities across a wide range of sports. Facilities include an indoor athletics centre and outdoor stadium, sports halls and all-weather pitches, a 50-metre swimming pool, squash, badminton and netball courts, an indoor tennis centre and outdoor courts, and possibly the best gym in the country, Powerbase.

THE WORKOUTS

The workouts for the event will be released on 7th of May, but for now please see the below for a snapshot of the workouts from our National Fitness Games 2018 event at Loughborough:

ENDURANCE WORKOUT

Teams had to complete the below in sequence with only one team member working at any one time. Team members could interchange on each station at any time and as many times as they wanted:

 

  • 200 x Burpees

  • then move onto 1,600 metres run on a TechnoGym SkillMill

  • then row 2,000 metres on a Renegade Air Rower

  • then move onto a Renegade Air Bike for a maximum calorie burn for remaining duration of the 25-minute time cap 

FORCE WORKOUT

Each team member had one minute to achieve as many reps as possible of the below:

  • 24” Box Jump Overs

  • Plate Ground To Overhead (25kg men, 15kg women)

  • Stones Over Wall then Jump Over Wall (40kg men, 20kg women)

  • 50kg Power Bag Drag Shuttles

VELOCITY WORKOUT

Each team had to complete a set number of rounds of team sprints and object carries. The objects were RAZE Stone, RAZE Bale and a RAZE Keg.

STRENGTH WORKOUT

Each team member had to achieve their best 3-rep max on each of the below exercises within a 25-minute time cap:

  • Deadlift

  • Strict Press

  • Bench Press
