Is the event open to all abilities?
Yes, the competition is open to all abilities with competitors ranging from elite athletes to fitness enthusiasts. You will not be asked to complete any overly technical lifts or exercises so anyone who is a regular gym goer will be able to compete.
Is NFG a CrossFit competition? We don't train in a CrossFit gym, can we participate?
NFG is not associated with Crossfit Inc. or The CrossFit Games. We welcome all athletes from all fitness and sporting backgrounds who believe they have what it takes to compete and who want to take on the challenge. NFG is not exclusively for CrossFit athletes or individuals who follow a CrossFit style of training.
What will the workouts consist of?
Each team will have to complete four workout challenges, the details of which will be released on the day of the event. Successful teams will have to demonstrate strength, speed, power & endurance.
How many competitors per team?
4 people per team. Teams entering the mixed category must be made up of 2 males and 2 females. Teams entering the Masters category must be made up of 4 competitors all over the age of 40 on the day of the event.
Is my team entry refundable?
No, tickets are non-refundable.
What happens if one of our team members gets injured in the run-up to the event?
You will be able to replace a team member up until 9.00am the day before the event.
Will I receive an e-mail confirming my team payment and registration?
Yes, once your payment has been processed, the Team Captain should receive an electronic receipt and an e-mail confirming your team registration. Your teammates should also receive a confirmation e-mail directly too. Please make sure you check your junk folder if you do not receive this within 24 hours of processing the payment and contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further problems.
What kit do I need?
You will need normal gym kit: shorts, t-shirts or vests & trainers
The outdoor pitch is 4G so you can use moulded studs or trainers
Chalk, elbow sleeves and knee sleeves are permitted but lifting straps and weight lifting gloves are not allowed.
Will be food available on the day?
Yes, there will be food stalls on site – these will take both cash and card.
Is there alcohol available on the day?
Yes, alcohol will be on sale during the event.
What time will the event finish?
The National Fitness Games will be finished at approximately 6pm but there will be a prize giving ceremony following the final events.
What time is registration?
Registration will open from 9.00am and all participants must be registered by 10.00am.
Will I need insurance?
We do not take any responsibility for accident or injury, all participants will be required to sign an event waiver when registering at the event.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is free parking on site
How do I get to Loughborough?
Loughborough is at the heart of England in the northernmost part of the county of Leicestershire and being centrally placed it is well served by road, rail and air. Main line road and rail networks link Loughborough directly with the rest of the country, and the town itself is served by excellent bus services.
Loughborough University is less than two miles away from junction 23 of the M1 motorway.
London is one-and-a-half hours away by train, Birmingham one hour and Manchester and Leeds around two hours.
There are regular scheduled flights from UK, European and international destinations to East Midlands Airport, only seven miles away
